Finished The Project
I finished my video, and decided to title it Vicis, which is Latin for Time. The video is 4 minutes long, but it seems like it is a lot longer.

Computer problems..

Today I had really bad computer problems. When I try to connect my camera to my computer and capture the footage, I get an error message saying that the Camera is not responding, I get this over and over gain. I tried it on all three computer and it does not work on any, so I guess I'm having camera problems..

I have about 30 minutes of the clock ticking. I think that this will be more than enough for me to make a project, since I will not use more than about 10 mins of recorded footage.

I started to record some footage of the clock, I started out with it zoomed in on a plain white area of the clock. It looks really fuzzy, but thats what I want. I attached a mic to the camera and placed it in the back of the clock so I could get a louder sounding tick. When I was about 1 min into recording my phone rang in my room.

I have an idea of what I will do to represent and manipulate time. I will start with the camera zoomed into the clock in a plain white space. I don't want it to seem obvious that it is a clock at first. I will however put a Mic behind the clock to record ticking of the clock. I will then leave the camera in the zoomed possition until the hand that keeps track of seconds passes in front of the camera. Then I will zoom out to let the clock be fully visible. Then I will let it go on for about 30 secons. Once the 30 secons have passed I will FastForward time, the suddenly stop. I will then make time move slower. Then make it go backwards to the original time at the begining of the recording, then finish.

For my first project I want to explore the media of film. In this project I want to explore time. I’m not entirely sure on how I will show it but I want to see how time can be manipulated. In film time can be manipulated at the will of the director. One second you can be in the past then the next you can be in the present, and you never really know which is which until you see the next one.
